Staircases
Often the most important central feature of an entrance hall, both staircases and stairwells can prove challenging to capture perfectly - most often due to their scale and proximity to the camera. But there are different approaches that can be taken to represent them well, and usually (necessarily) in portrait of vertical format.
From staircases in luxury yachts to stairwells in prestige homes, we have captured many different kinds over the years...
Sometimes one can compositionally ‘play’ with staircases and use special lenses to accentuate their architecture in unique ways – as can be seen from a few of the images below.
